King of Prussia Divorce Attorney Helps Run the 2015 Regional High School Mock Trial Competition
As Treasurer of the Montgomery Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, Lindsay C. Hanifan, Esq. and her fellow officers helped run the regional high school Mock Trial competition.
A total of twenty seven teams from high schools throughout Montgomery County competed in the regional play-offs from February 3, 2015 through March 10, 2015. The students presented evidence in a murder trial that involved a college student who died while performing a pledge task for an honor society. In the first two rounds, each team had one turn to represent the prosecution and one turn to represent the defendant, who was the honor society’s pledge master and president. In participating, the students who acted as attorneys and witnesses all learned rules of evidence, trial strategies, and legal theories while enhancing their public speaking skills.
In addition to coordinating the competition on the local level, King of Prussia divorce attorney Lindsay C. Hanifan, Esq. and the other officers of the Young Lawyers Section joined Bar Association and community members to serve as jurors and time-keepers. President Judge William J. Furber, Jr. of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas presided over the regional final round between Jenkintown High School and North Penn High School. The winner, Jenkintown High School, will advance to the State Championship in Harrisburg, starting on March 27, 2015.
